Crews Give Rescue Mule A Helping Hand In Clifton

When a mule couldn't get up on her own, a team of firefighters and a veterinarian stepped in.

CLIFTON, VA—A rescue mule needing a helping hand found quite a few from the local fire departments Tuesday in Clifton.

Around 1 p.m., Fairfax County Fire and Rescue was called to Chapel Road to help Molly, a 25-year-old mule, that could not get up. The fire department assisted Little Fork Volunteer Fire Department's Large Animal Technical Rescue Team and a local veterinarian to help Molly up using a lift.

"The lift assist was a success," Fairfax Fire and Rescue reported on social media. A photo posted after the rescue shows Molly, a cross between a female horse and male donkey, back on all fours.
