Cabot Creamery came to town to say thanks to the DC region's many volunteers! April is National Volunteer Month. Hundreds of volunteers converged on the Fairfax County Government Building April 16 to spotlight people in our region who lend their time and talents on behalf of our many non-profit organizations. The focus of the event was “Aging Well and Living Well.” Seen here, from left, George Williams with Fairfax Family Services, Norma Ferman of Hunterwood Fellowship House, Emily Thomas with Volunteer Solutions of Fairfax and Mimi Castaldi and Jo Sabel Courtney (seated, along with the Cabot mascot), both with Cabot Creamery Cooperative, here to help feed and thank volunteers at a number of events across the region. Cabot is a cooperative in New England that comprises more than 1,200 farm families.
The Cabot Creamery Cooperative, which comprises 1,200 farm families, is in DC during National Volunteer month to say thanks to the region's volunteers. One of their stops was the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run where they fed all of the volunteers from their mobile "Gratitude Grill." Since it’s inception, the race has raised over $7 million dollars for children’s hospitals across the country. Seen here, outside the National Building Museum, during a pre-race Volunteer Appreciation Party are, left to right, Roberta MacDonald, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Cabot Creamery Cooperative; Charlie Mallon, Chairman of the Race Committee for the Credit Union Title Sponsor Group and CEO of the Congressional Federal Credit Union; Cindy Stoker, Chef, Cabot Farmer’s Gratitude Grille; and Michelle Silver, Community Tour Manager, Cabot Creamery Cooperative.
