Driver Dies After Crashing Into Trees In Burke

BREAKING: A driver was killed after veering off the road and crashing into trees in Burke overnight.

BURKE, VA—One person is dead after his car crashed into two trees in Burke Tuesday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., Fairfax County Police were called to Fairfax County Parkway and Waterline Drive. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews arrived and pronounced the driver, Shahram Johanshad, 46, of Fairfax dead on scene.

Police say Johanshad was traveling north on Fairfax County Parkway before the accident. The car tried to make a turn and went off the roadway on the left, then came across the road to veer off the right side. The car ended up hitting two trees off the road.

Police continue to investigate and believe speed contributed the accident. They do not yet know if alcohol was involved.
