Accotink Creek Watershed Management Plan

The Accotink Creek draft plan forum will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Fairfax County is seeking public input in the development of the watershed management plan for this watershed.

The draft plan forum, which is open to the public, will be held at Fairfax High School, multi- purpose room, 3501 Rebel Road, Fairfax. Registration is from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. The meeting is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The forum is part of an ongoing process to develop comprehensive watershed management plans for each of the 30 major watersheds in Fairfax County. These plans outline a strategy to address stormwater issues and protect natural resources in the watershed. The proposed projects will help meet county goals for water quality and stream improvements. Meeting presenters will provide an overview of the watershed planning process and the draft plan document. Participants will be invited to share their concerns and learn about proposed projects in their watersheds to ensure that the plan reflects the concerns of the community.
