Fairfax County Libraries To Close 2 Days Per Week Temporarily Due To Staffing

Fairfax County Public Library will temporarily change hours due to increasing COVID-19 cases and staffing issues.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County Public Library will temporarily close two days a week amid staffing challenges and rising COVID-19 cases. Starting Sunday, Jan. 16 through April 1, all regional and community library branches in Fairfax County will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Locations will maintain regular hours Tuesdays through Saturdays. Regional libraries will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Community libraries will be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Access Services branch at the Fairfax County Government Center will maintain usual hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

The library system offers various online services, including eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines.
