The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the <a href="https://patch.com/L-lZ2Y" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Commons Community Center</a>.  Presentations will be made by Supervisor Cook, Fairfax County Board Chairman Sharon Bulova, and VRE and Fairfax County staff. Topics will include VRE, future bus service from Burke Centre to Tysons Corner, and a potential shuttle to George Mason University. Burke Patch will report on the meeting in Tuesday's edition.

As a musical prelude to our country 250th
anniversary, we present a celebration of the people, stories, and songs that give voice to the American spirit and our unique and varied musical identity.
The program begins with the traditions of Indigenous peoples and continues through the hymns of early settlers and the spirituals born from slavery, music that reflects both struggle and hope. As America grew, immigrant cultures enriched its musical landscape, leading to songs of unity and resilience from the Civil War through World Wars I and II. The journey continues to Broadway, where American stories and aspirations came vividly to life on stage.

The concert concludes with Randall Thompson’s The Testament of Freedom, a powerful musical affirmation of liberty and the enduring ideals that continue to define America and remind us of music's ability to bring people together.

Yes, as long as they are accompanied by an adult and supervised. This is a quiet reading event, so please be courteous of other event attendees.</li><li>Can I bring my own alcohol? Outside alcohol is not permitted. Visit Uncle Julio’s, Crafthouse, or PF Chang’s to purchase alcohol onsite to drink on the Plaza.</li><li>Is there seating? Yes! We will have extra chairs and tables at the Plaza; however, you are also welcome to bring your own chairs, mats, or cushions to make yourself comfortable. Plaza seating is first come, first served.</li><li>Will it be silent? Well, no. While we’re quietly reading, please keep in mind that this is an outdoor space, so ambient noise is to be expected.
