BURKE, VA — Members of Girl Scout Troop 52007 in Burke have set a goal to help dogs stay hydrated while playing at Monticello Dog Park in Fairfax.

After talking to dog owners at the park, which is located down the road from the Target Store on Guinea Road, the scouts learned that the only source of water there was non-potable. The owners told the scouts that some of the dogs have been getting sick from drinking the water.

As part of a Bronze Award project, the girls want to find a way to have a safe supply of water available so that dogs can stay hydrated, especially in the hot weather.
