Greenspring Kicks Off Summer with Spectacular 3rd Annual SUMMERFEST
Highlights included a car show with vehicles from 1913-2023, a live band, barbeque, baked goods, vendors, fresh caramel corn, and more!

Greenspring, an Erickson Senior Living community in Springfield, Va., recently hosted a sensational event, SUMMERFEST, to mark the beginning of summer. The Resident Council Philanthropy Committee partnered with the Philanthropy staff to host this campus-wide event. At the festival, residents, staff, family and friends, and prospective residents enjoyed a day filled with excitement and fun.
Highlights included a car show with vehicles from 1913 - 2023, a live band, barbeque, baked goods, vendors, fresh caramel corn, homemade ice cream, funnel cakes, and more.
The event also aimed to make a positive impact on the community by organizing a food drive to support Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO), a local non-profit organization. Attendees generously contributed to the cause by collecting 798 pounds of non-perishable food, furthering Greenspring's commitment to giving back.

All proceeds from the event went to support the Greenspring Benevolent Care Fund, which provides confidential financial support to seniors living in the community who, through no fault of their own, have outlived their resources. Thanks to the fund, no Greenspring resident has ever needed to leave their home within the community due to inability to pay, and residents have peace of mind in their home for life.
SUMMERFEST is just one of the many engaging community and philanthropic events organized by Greenspring throughout the year. These events form an integral part of the vibrant retirement lifestyle enjoyed by residents.
