Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Sale & Bridal Show
When: Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Hyatt Arlington, 1325 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22209
The VIP "Unveiling of the Gowns" event will feature hundreds of designer or couture wedding gowns that are either new or loving worn. With gowns ranging in price from $99 to $3,900 and available in all styles and in sizes 4-18, brides can browse through the gowns to find the perfect fit for them while supporting a great cause. The event will also feature some of the area's top wedding vendors and guests can enter to win some great giveaways, including a Gift Certificate for two Wedding Bands from JVL Jewelry and a Travel Package Gift from VIP Vacations. The cost of admission is a $20 tax-deductible donation.
For those not attending the VIP event, the bridal show continues from one to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon-5:00 p.m. on Sunday. General admission cost is a 5% tax-deductible donation.
RSVP Northern Virginia

RSVP Northern Virginia is a community volunteer organization designed for persons aged 55 and older. Members get to serve the community while benefiting from a valuable experience. RSVP seeks to place people into volunteer roles for which they are likely to be most gifted and enjoy. Volunteers also receive mileage and meal reimbursement, as well as supplemental insurance while they serve.

In this one-man play written by playwright Mark Humphrey, entertainer Jack Benny is brought to life on stage by actor Tim Newell. The play showcases Benny's humor and his off-key violin playing, among other aspects of his life. General admission is $29, $24 for JCCNV members and senior citizens, and $19 for children and students.
Workshop: “Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters”
When: Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 6:30 PM
Where: 3701 Pender Drive, Suite, 400, Fairfax, VA 22030
This workshop put on by the Alzheimer's Association is for anyone who wants to know more about Alzheimer's disease and other related forms of dementia. The cost is free, and anyone interested should call 800.272.3900 or email ProgramNCA@alz.org for more information.
