Motorcyclist Dies After Collision On Fairfax County Parkway
Two vehicles were involved in the crash on Thursday night, according to Fairfax County Police.
FAIRFAX STATION, VA — A motorcylist was killed in a crash on the Fairfax County Parkway Thursday, according to police.
The crash happened around 7:55 p.m. at Fairfax County Parkway and Popes Head Road in Fairfax Station. Police say a 2003 Nissan Maxima driver heading north on the Fairfax County Parkway attempted a left turn onto westbound Popes Head Road on a flashing yellow signal. The motorcycle was heading on the Fairfax County Parkway on a green signal and struck the car.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene. The victim was identified as Joshua Baldwin, 37, of Rose Hill.

The car driver and a passenger had minor injuries and remained on the scene. Detectives believe speed may have been a factor in the crash for the motorcycle.
The crash temporarily closed southbound Fairfax County Parkway and diverted traffic to Braddock Road. All lanes have reopened.
