Multiple Car Accident Sends Four to the Hospital

Police said it was still unclear what caused the four-car accident at Burke Centre Parkway and Burke Lake Road.

An accident involving multiple cars held up traffic at Burke Centre Parkway and Burke Lake Road for an hour today.

The accident, which occurred around 11:30 a.m., sent four people to the hospital. It was reported by BNN-Rescue/Traffic that at one point, one driver was entrapped.

Police at the scene said they were not certain how the accident occurred, but an officer was going to the hospital to talk to the drivers involved. One officer speculated that it looked like it might have been the result of a left-turn collision.

"Cars are really good at saving people's lives," he observed.

Four cars were observed at the scene including: a Black Kia with its driver side  smashed up and the driver door pried to the side, a silver car with a severely damaged front bumper and deployed airbags, a blue car with a missing front driver door, and a blue BMW which sustained minimal damage. Two women were observed taking their belongings from the silver car and leaving.

Police directed traffic to turn along Burke Lake Road while the intersection was closed. A team quickly cleaned up the detritus, with two tow trucks driving away the cars.
