Richard Hanson, 53, has been arrested in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on a warrant from Fairfax County for murder. Hanson was taken into custody by the Scranton Police Department with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Hanson is charged in the homicide of his father, 75-year-old Gary P. Hanson, of Springfield, Virginia.
At about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, officers received a call for a shooting. They found Gary Hanson deceased inside his home at 7628 Chancellor Way, with injuries to his upper body.
