New Volunteers Begin Their First Cases

Congrats to Nancy Glenn and Susan Hildebrand! These volunteers are advocating for a total of 3 children who are living under the court’s protection because their parents or caregivers have been cited for abuse or neglect.  The volunteers will spend the next few weeks reviewing court records, speaking with social workers, and preparing case plans so that they may being advocating for the children they serve.  Ultimately, the members of the November 2013 training class will serve approximately 30 children on 13 new cases that have been referred to Fairfax CASA by the juvenile court.

The rate of case referrals to Fairfax CASA has picked up in recent months and the program will need additional volunteers to serve children in the coming months.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a CASA volunteer, attend our informational session on Saturday, January 11 at the Oakton Library in Oakton, VA 11-12. RSVP to volunteer@casafairfax.org.
