Of course, if you have school-aged children, good schools most likely equal better teachers, better books, and better test scores. However, buying a home in a good school district also equals to resale advantage. Thus, whether you plan on using the school system or not, a buyer is offered protection from market fluctuations in addition to a great education for his or her family.
Unsurprisingly, several factors do influence buyers with their home buying decision – curb appeal, size, floor plan, updates, maintenance, the proximity of amenities; such as hospitals, shopping, airports and so forth. Nonetheless, a recent survey (Realtor.com, 2013) of perspective buyers showed that 91 percent stated that school boundaries were essential to their home search. A home purchased in a quality school area preserves home values and quite often ensures a faster resale.

As a mother and member of a military family, I personally know the importance of school boundaries. For years, my family and I lived a transient lifestyle and the primary hurdle moving to a new area was that school boundary line.
