Robinson, Lake Braddock Win Heats at State Crew Championships

Lake Braddock, Robinson and West Springfield crew teams performed well at the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championship on Saturday at Sandy Run Regional Park.

Lake Braddock captured the boys quad title with a time of 5:01 while Robinson won the boy's first eight petite with a time of 4:44.2.

Several Burke-area teams grabbed bids to national competition, including: Robinson's girls' second eight and girls' first eight, Lake Braddock's boys quad and lightweight girls' eight, and West Springfield's lightweight girls' four.

Lake Braddock also grabbed third place in the lightweight girls' eight, fourth place in the lightweight boys' four and sixth in the boys' first eight petite. Robinson placed fourth in the boys' second eight, fourth in the girls' second eight and fifth in the girls' first eight. West Springfield placed third in the lightweight girls' four, third in the boys' first eight petite and sixth in the girls' first eight petite.
