The Richmond Times-Dispatch obtained state employees' names, job titles and salaries using Virginia's Freedom of Information statute.

RICHMOND, VA — The highest-paid employee of the Virginia state government is Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao, who made $909,940 from the fiscal year July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch obtained state employees’ names, job titles and salaries using Virginia's Freedom of Information statute.

It's a comprehensive list, and the newspaper documented the pay for each and every state agency employee in the Commonwealth.
