With the ongoing pandemic, more and more families are struggling to afford basic necessities, like rent and food. Your gift will help your neighbors put food on their tables. The goal is to raise enough money for Food For Neighbors to provide 680 $50 grocery store gift cards to 24 Fairfax County and Loudoun County schools to distribute to their most vulnerable students.

“When our . . . families received food, many said it took away one more burden from their growing list of worries . . . . More than everything, they felt heard, and visible; that they weren’t forgotten.” High School Counselor, Fairfax County Public Schools
In addition to the Holiday Meals Program, Food For Neighbors is known for its Red Bag Program, through which it has collected over 207,000 pounds of food for area students. The nonprofit now has over 1,500 households registered to donate red bags filled with shelf-stable foods plus more than 1,000 community members signed up to collect, sort, and/or distribute it. Additional programs include the Pantry Program, the Grocery Gift Card Program, and the Toiletry Program. Any Holiday Meals Program donations in excess of the goal will go to general operations, which focus on these programs.
