Springfield Drunk Driver Caught Fleeing From Police
A Springfield woman faces a DWI charge after fleeing from police.
A Springfield driver faces a DWI charge after leading police on a pursuit in Chantilly Friday.
Around 8:37 p.m., officers were called to the area of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway and Majestic Lane for a suspected drunk driver. They found a car in the parking lot, which drove off as officers approached.
Police began a chase, eventually blocking the car to bring it to a stop. The driver, Amber Hartzell, 23, of Springfield, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. The passenger, Raheel Aijaz, 25, of Reston, was arrested and charged with drunk in public.

Court records indicate she had been charged with a number of other driving-related offenses in previous years. Her initial court appearance is scheduled for March 22.
