As I drove around the drive through, there was a green flurry and then this green bird with bluish highlights on its sides and cheeks sat down on the pavement. ‘Weird’ to say the least as I looked closer and slowly brought the phone up for a few shots. The bird was a bit bigger than the sparrows it seemed to be hanging out with and sat staring at me as I creeped closer but something seemed odd about the little bird ... Then I noticed what was bothering me; the bird had no beak!
As the line had moved, I slowly left the parrot-like (parakeet perhaps) bird and wondered if it had lost its beak in a tussle with a larger bird.
So, if anyone in Burke is missing a pet bird who looks like the one in the picture, it’s scrounging scraps at the Chick-Fil-A in the Burke Center Shopping Mall!
