Things Burke Is Missing, According To Readers

BURKE, VA—We asked what was one thing Burke was missing, and you answered. In fact, the responses were overwhelming when we posed the question on Facebook.

We got more than 50 comments, not including replies, and went through each response to understand what residents want in their future here in Burke. We tallied the top responses by counting likes and multiple comments expressing the same concerns.

The top two choice of a drive-thru Starbucks got tons of support (and drive-thrus in general), followed closely by the desire for more dining variety. Other popular business choices include Trader Joe's, Wegmans, Wawa and Sonic. Residents also have visions for community improvements, like a beach on Burke Lake and a downtown area. Patch plans to follow up with Fairfax County officials and some of these companies to check on the feasibility of readers' requests.
