Update: Four Displaced From Burke Fire
Update: Four Burke residents are displaced after a lamp ignited a fire in their home Wednesday.
(Updated 10:23 p.m. Thursday) BURKE, VA -- A townhouse fire Wednesday morning at the 10700 block of Spring Oak Court in Burke has injured three people and displaced the home's four residents.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes and quickly put out the fire. Three adults were home when alerted to the fire by the fire alarm. Two had to jump out of the second story window to escape. Brad Cochrane, deputy fire chief in the operations bureau, said two people were transported to burn centers and one to a local hospital. No firefighters were injured.

Two dogs and a cat were found dead in the home. The home's four residents will be receiving Red Cross assistance.
Fire investigators determined the fire started by a floor lamp igniting with nearby combustibles. Fire alarms were working properly. Damages are approximately $253,062.
