Today’s kitchen has become the new living room. The kitchen used to be the room that was hidden from guests, positioned in the back of the home and closed in by walls. One of the top kitchen trends for 2014 continues to be the open kitchen concept. Homeowners are seeking remodeling designs that allow their kitchen to become the social hub of their homes. The key to this concept is the connection of the kitchen to other rooms with the house – the dining room, family room or great room. Schroeder Design Build has done this for many clients by removing walls and in some cases building additions to create new great rooms or sunrooms adjoining the kitchen.
