Fairfax County Voter Turnout Varies Widely
Election officials say numbers range from about seven to 40 percent of active registered voters.
Election officials said this afternoon voter turnout varied widely across Fairfax County.
"Sonia Skipper, an employee in the office of the registrar, said as of 2:30 p.m., there was no way to calculate an average of how many of the county's 640,689 "active" voters had cast their vote, " reported Vienna Patch.
Turnout sampling at 2:30 p.m. showed the range from 6.9 percent to 37.3 percent.

- Precinct 234 Aldrin in Reston: 327 voters for 6.9 percent
- Precinct 127 Burke Centre in Burke: 607 voters for 13.9 percent
- Precinct 115 Ravensworth in Springfield: 339 voters for 21.1 percent
- Precinct 611 Stratford in Alexandria: 856 voters for 37.3 percent

Election officials and candidates have expected the turnout to reach 30 percent, which is in line with 2007's off season election turnout.
