Week Ahead: Zombies and Pizza Party, Burke Historical Society Movie Screening, Swim Meet

Here are five things you need to know in Burke this week.

Discover the ā€œRoad to Happinessā€:Ā The Burke Historical Society will host a movie screening of the 1920s film at its general meeting on Sunday, July 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, located at 6304 Lee Chapel Road in Burke.

Support one of your local swim teams: the Cottontail Cobias swim team will participate in a divisional swim meet on Saturday, July 27 at 9 a.m. at home. The meet will be at 7000 Cottontail Ct., in Springfield.

Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Operation Homefront DC Metro needs volunteers to help pack backpacks at the Giant on Burke Lake Road on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TheĀ Wakefield Run restoration project is now underway. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at theĀ Audrey Moore RECenter in Annandale. Refreshments will be served.

Zombies and pizza will take over the Chantilly Regional Library on Wednesday. "Warm Bodiesā€ author Isaac Marion will sign books and meet fans on July 24 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Oh, and there's a pizza party and teen workshopĀ at 5:30 p.m. prior to the event.Ā The event is organized and co-sponsored by Burke'sĀ Friends of Kings Park Library.Ā
