Weekend Stands In Way Of $200K Springfield Lottery Winner

It's not often you wish for the weekend to be over, but this lottery winner had to wait until Monday to claim her prize.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Wishing the weekend away is not something most of us would do, but what if it was for a big lottery prize?

That was the case when a Springfield woman realized she won $200,000 for her Super Crash scratch ticket. Ah E. Goh immediately drove to the Virginia Lottery customer service center in Woodbridge on a Saturday, but it was closed until Monday.

She said it was a long wait until she could redeem the ticket Monday morning. But it was well worth it, because she's planning to travel to Europe later this year.
