West Springfield Dance Team Wins Nationals
Three-time national champions honored by Virginia General Assembly on Thursday.
Just back from winning their third consecutive National Dance Alliance (NDA) Hip Hop championship, the (WSDT) received a standing ovation from the Virginia General Assembly on Thursday.
The team was in Richmond to receive a Center Aisle Presentation from Delegates Eileen Filler-Corn (D-41), Dave Albo (R-42) and Charniele Herring (D-46).
WSDT scored 9.986 at the national competition in Orlando, Fla. "It's one of the (if not the) highest score in NDA Hip Hop history," said a team member on the group's Facebook page. "Words can't explain how we feel. Thank you everyone who has supported us."

Last year, WSDT competed in NBC's America's Got Talent, making it all the way into the finals. The team of 17 dancers is coached by choreographers and creative directors Tara Perez and Jason King.
