Wine Social Hosted by Assistance League of Northern Virginia

Enjoyable afternoon at Paradise Springs Winery for members and guests

Assistance League of Northern Virginia held its Fall Fundraising Wine Social at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton on November 4th. The wonderful venue and sunny weather enhanced the opportunity to socialize while enjoying a variety of Paradise Springs wines, conversation and hors d'oeuvres. The Wine Social was attended by more than 100 Assistance League of Northern Virginia members, guests, family and friends. Special guests included prospective new Assistance League Advisory Council members, Maureen Dawson, Ed Hogg, David Naegele, Chris Reseigh, and Christine Slattery. Attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to win one of several raffle baskets with different themes. Matt Love, Dominion Energy contact for the Weekend Food for Kids program, assisted in drawing the winning tickets for the raffle baskets awarded to lucky winners. Funds raised at the event will help support the non-profit's children's programs and assist with efforts to continue to expand our services for local children.

Numerous Assistance League members contributed to the success of the event in many ways, including contributing items for the raffle baskets and providing hors d'oeuvres. Karen Amster, VP Resource Development, Jeanne Sclater, and Mary Spence collaborated to coordinate all the logistics involved in assuring an enjoyable afternoon. Special appreciation is extended to Linda Shilts for coordinating the venue and orchestrating the selection of Paradise Springs wines. Many thanks to all who attended and contributed time and talents to this Fall Fundraiser.
