ParktoberFest is a fun, fall community tradition–and everyone’s invited to celebrate! Ellanor C. Lawrence Park (ECLP) Friends present the seventh annual ParktoberFest on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Join us on the lawn of the historic Middlegate House beside Cabell’s Mill, (opposite The Woodlands Stewardship Education Center) at 5235 Walney Road in Chantilly, Va.
Highlights of this FREE community event include:
● Live Music: Enjoy favorite The Walkaways, joined this year by singer/songwriter Jay Byrd.
● Ono Brewery Craft Brews: Raise a glass with ice cold brews from the tap, including seasonal favorites Pumpkin Ale and OktoberFest.
● Food Trucks: Come hungry. Check out Burgorilla and Spinners Deli for lunch on the lawn.
● Local Makers & More: Shop from more than 20 local makers, bakers and artisans, and browse a selection of fall plants and florals.
● ECLP Friends: Stop by the ECLP Friends booth to purchase new merch, learn about upcoming programs and initiatives, find out how to volunteer, donate, and discover more ways to support the park.
● Family Fun: ECLP staff and a local Girl Scout troop will lead fun-filled crafts and activities designed to get young visitors exploring, creating and enjoying the park.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and chairs, claim a spot on the lawn and make an afternoon of it or just hang out for a couple of hours enjoying the live music, browsing local vendors, and sharing a meal with friends. There’s plenty of room to relax and soak up the season at ECLP. (Leashed pets are also welcome!)
Parking & Transportation: Free parking is available at the Woodlands Stewardship Education Center, the lot beside Walney Pond, and the Walney Visitor Center (with a short trail walk to Cabell’s Mill). Walking and biking to the site are especially encouraged! The trail will be marked and only takes about 10-15 minutes.
