Centreville Competes at Concorde Indoor Track Championships

Senior Sydney Pryor placed third in the 55 meter hurdles.

After two states, two facilities and over two weeks, the Concorde District Championships concluded Wednesday night at Episcopal High School in Alexandria. 

Among those qualifying for the regional championship at GMU was senior hurdler Sydney Pryor, with her third place finish in the 55 meter hurdles.  Senior sprinter Mike Wright finished fourth in the boys' 300 meter sprint.  Sophomore Andrew Ridenour placed fourth in the boys' long jump with a leap of 19'10.25.”

Senior Mikael Mantis had a huge personal record to place fifth with a jump of 19'6.5”. Senior Calvin Jones placed 5th in the boy's 500 Meters and sophomore Natalie King captured fifth place in the girls' 500 to advance to the next round.

Joining them will be junior Chase Heiner, who finished fifth in a very competitive boys' 1000 meter run, and senior Rebecca Vinter who placed sixth in the girls' 1000. 

Lastly, the boy's 4x400 meter relay team of Calvin Jones, sophomore Young Bin Jin, Mike Wright and Chase Heiner finished in second place to advance to regionals. The boys' 4x800 relay team and Heiner (500 meters) had previously qualified based on time.
