Centreville Hit-And-Run Kills Pedestrian: Police

A pedestrian was killed at Lee Highway and Prince Way in Centreville early Thursday morning by a driver who did not stop, police said.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A pedestrian was killed at Lee Highway and Prince Way in Centreville early Thursday morning by a driver who did not stop, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. The police said they do not have a description of the vehicle.

New information about the investigation will be released later Thursday, said the police department, which has not released the identify of the victim. Detectives from the police department's Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating the hit-and-run.

The police closed all southbound lanes of Lee Highway near Prince Way after responding to the incident around 2 a.m. At about 5 a.m. Thursday, all lanes of Lee Highway at Prince Way were reopened by the police.
