Chesterbrook Academy Students Raise Over $1,000 for Nonprofit

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Aldie recently raised over $1,000 during a coin drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night event. During the first week of August, students dressed up for spirit days and collected a different type of coin each day of the week. Parents made additional donations online and during Chesterbrook Academy’s annual summer art show.

The fundraising initiative will culminate on Oct. 15 when Chesterbrook Academy staff will participate in the Light the Night walk in Reston, a community event where supporters walk to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer. Through this initiative, students have been learning the importance of helping other children in need.
