Cop Hit Directing Traffic In Centreville: Police

A Fairfax County police officer was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning while directing traffic after a crash on Route 28 at Interstate 66.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A Fairfax County police officer was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning while he was directing traffic following a crash on Route 28 at Interstate 66. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that aren't life threatening, according to Fairfax County Police.

According to WTOP, the crash that preceded the officer's injury involved a box truck, a tractor trailer and a car, with one of the vehicles having flipped. One of the trucks hit a utility pole, bringing down power lines and causing the immediate area to lose power.
