Dog Fatally Shot In Centreville; Suspect In Custody: Police

CENTREVILLE, MD — Fairfax County Police have a suspect in custody following the fatally shooting of a dog in Centreville on Friday, according to a 10:55 a.m. post on the department's official Twitter account.

Officers responded to the 13300 block of Connor Drive in Centreville for the report a dog being shot. Police say the shooter was taken into custody and no long was considered a threat to the community.

The dog was taken to a nearby veterinarian for treatment of its injuries but it died. No other injuries were reported in connection with this case.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the shooter shot the dog following an argument with another man, according to police. The shooter then ran to a nearby apartment, but he later surrendered to police.
