Founded in 1996, Encore Theatrical Arts Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving the artistic and cultural needs of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia. ETAP inspires excellence in its performers, choreography, costumes, set designs and crews by raising the bar for local theatre in this vibrant community outside the Nationʼs Capital. ETAP performers are exceptional dancers between the ages of 8 and 18, and many have graduated to become successful professional dancers, including Radio City Rockettes and Broadway performers. What started out as a project by founder and Artistic Director, Raynor van der Merwe, became a 20 year successful arts organization. In the past 20 years, ETAP has staged and produced over 100 performances of original shows and has collaborated with other not-for-profit organizations to raise funds for several local community enrichment programs.
