Preschoolers at The Learning Experience® (TLE®), the country’s fastest growing early learning academy for Infants to Preschool, in Chantilly / South Riding participated in a hat drive for Ellie’s Hats in April. Ellie’s Hats is a local charity with the mission to donate hats to children with cancer and to raise childhood cancer awareness. Preschoolers learned that by donating hats for this cause, they were showing these brave children that others are thinking about them and to bring a little cheer into their day.
To wrap up the event, our Preschoolers welcomed the founder of Ellie’s Hats, Mr. Jay Coakely to our school where he accepted the kind gift of hats and spoke with the children. “The Learning Experience® is always looking for real and tangible ways to teach children the power of community and giving. Supporting this cause was a perfect fit and the children really made a connection by helping other children,” said Judy McClimans, Center Director of The Learning Experience in Chantilly / South Riding.
