He faces drunk driving and other charges, say Fairfax County police.

A police dog apprehended a Lorton man early Monday when he tried to flee on foot after his vehicle went off the road and through several yards in the Clifton area.
Michael R. Laforest, 29, was treated by medics at the scene for a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Fairfax County police.
He was also charged with DWI fourth offense, driving on a revoked license-DUI related, misdemeanor hit-and-run, and revocation of license for multiple DWI convictions.
No one else was injured in the hit-and-run accident, which occurred at about 3:40 a.m. on Braddock Road near Union Mill Road, police said. The accident left the car disabled.

As responding officers arrived, the driver tried to elude them by fleeing on foot into a wooded area. A K-9 team (an officer with a police dog) located Laforest on Old Clifton Road. He failed to comply with the K-9 team’s verbal commands and was bitten by the dog and arrested, the police said.
