The Arlington Babe Ruth 14-year-old All Stars defeated the McLean/Great Falls All Stars 27-4 in the opening round of the Arlington-hosted 14U division of the District 13 tournament. The game took place Thursday at Greenbriar Field at Yorktown High School.
The Arlington attack was led by Will Burgess, Parker Denny, Teddy Herbert and Quinn Montante, who each had four runs batted in. Montante also pitched two innings, started a nifty 1-6-3 double play from the mound and retired McLean/Great Falls on three pitches in the fourth inning.
Arlington faces the Springfield All Stars at 8 p.m. Friday at Greenbriar Field. The tournament runs through the weekend at Yorktown High School.
