Business Journals: Manhattan, Arlington Lead Country in Average Compensation

Both areas rate more than an average $100,000 per job.

The New York borough of Manhattan and Arlington County rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, in the United States in a comparison of the highest average worker compensation, according to The Business Journals.

People in Manhattan earned an average of $109,028 in 2009, according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Arlington County workers' paychecks averaged $102,373.

Those are the only two areas in the country where the average compensation rises above $100,000 per person, The Business Journals reported.
