North Carolina Man Charged in Domestic Dispute

Arlington police arrested a 22-year-old Charlotte, N.C., man this weekend after he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend and another woman.

Leroy Edouarzin was charged with malicious wounding and two counts of assault and battery. He remained in jail late Monday, according to the Arlington County Sheriff's Office.

At about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Edouarzin arrived at the home of his ex-girlfriend in the 3200 block of 24th Street South, which is in the Nauck neighborhood.

Edouarzin and the woman are the parents of a toddler, but are no longer in a romantic relationship, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

The two have a custody arrangement, and Edouarzin came to pick up his child, Sternbeck said.

Edouarzin and the woman began arguing, which escalated and he threatened her with a kitchen knife, according to police.

The man put the knife down, but the argument continued.

It turned physical and Edouarzin began punching his ex-girlfriend, Sternbeck said. The man also "choked and body-slammed into a wall" another woman who was at the home, he said.

Sternbeck would not identify the victims or provide their ages.

The toddler was home during the altercation, but was not injured, he said.

Both women declined medical treatment, Sternbeck said.
