Clarendon Bank Robbed

Police say suspect 'implied' he had a weapon.

An unidentified man robbed a Clarendon bank shortly before noon Monday.

The man entered , at 3001 Washington Blvd., at 11:50 a.m. and showed a note demanding money. He "implied" he had a weapon, according to an Arlington County Police Department news release.

The man received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. Detective Crystal Nosal refused to say how much money the man got away with, citing department policy.

Nosal said the last bank robbery in Arlington County was in January.

"We don't have many bank robberies in Arlington," she said. "Sometimes, we get a person who will hit a few at a time, but it's been a while since we had that."

Police say they are looking for a white man in his mid-50s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. During the robbery, he wore a baseball cap, a red wig, glasses, a white-and-brown, plaid, button-down shirt and khaki pants, the news release states.
