Rooted in the support of professional performing artists and their developing work, Artists’ Bloc provides the opportunity for artist and audience to collide through written and verbal feedback free from the critical eye of the press. During Notasphere, Artists’ Bloc presents two of its core programs, 12x6 and Modern Scribes, in the Dome Theatre and Terrace Gallery. 12x6 provides up to six artists 12 minutes each to present a section of their developing work—from slam poetry to theatre— for written and verbal feedback. Dedicated to the written word in its many forms, Modern Scribes helps bring the author’s piece from first to final draft.
Artists' Bloc is part of Notasphere, a month of programming created by local artistic collaborators. From a pop-up restaurant and political cartoons to Brazilian beats, Artisphere will be filled with fresh, thought-provoking off-beat arts events presented by creative partners from across the DC-region throughout January 2012.
