Last Chance: Mary Marshall Scholarship Applications Due April 16
Winners receive up to $2,000 each year.

The Arlington County Commission on the Status of Women has extended the Mary Marshall Memorial Scholarship application deadline to April 16.
The scholarships, up to $2,000 per year, will be awarded in June by the Arlington County Board.
Any county resident who has graduated from a public or private high school in Arlington and plans on attending Northern Virginia Community College to prepare for a career in public service is eligible to apply. Careers like public safety, public health, education or public administration are among those that qualify.

Applicants must complete a form, provide a copy of their most recent transcript, attach a letter of support and write a personal essay. Winners can reapply and receive the award up to three times.
Last year, the county board awarded scholarships to six students, including two past recipients.

The scholarship was established in 1994 in honor of Mary Marshall, who represented Arlington County as a state delegate for 24 years.
