Man Held Without Bond After Alleged Assault

The following crimes are the latest reported by the Arlington County Police:

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 140824010, 800 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. At 12:20 am on August 20, an intoxicated male subject physically assaulted and threatened a known female victim with a knife. Vasken Vartanian, 67, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He was held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 140824011, 4800 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 1:20 am on August 24, a male victim sustained a laceration on his head after being struck with a bottle during a bar fight. He was transported to Virginia Hospital Center. Witnesses provided very little suspect information and remains at-large.

ROBBERY, 140824022, 3900 block of N. Lee Highway. At 6:13 am on August 24, a subject assaulted a 7-11 employee and stole several cartons of Newport cigarettes before fleeing on foot. The suspect is described as a black male between 25-35 years old, approximately 6’0” tall and 180 lbs. He was wearing a white t-shirt with black jacket, grey pants and white shoes at the time of the incident.

BURGLARY, 140824058, 6800 block of N. 27th Street. Between 5 pm on August 23 and 6 pm on August 24, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a residence. It was unknown if any items were stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.
