Mozart and Friends
National Chamber Ensemble, Season Opening Concert, Saturday, Oct 17, 2015, 7:30PM Rosslyn Spectrum Theatre

The National Chamber Ensemble 9th Season Opener Concert “Mozart and Friends” celebrates genius of Austrian composer and admirers like Beethoven and Hoffmeister
The concert is a fascinating tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his musical admirers. On stage, violinist Leonid Sushansky, NCE’s founder and Artistic Director, joins forces with Kathryn Brake (piano), Uri Wassertzug (viola) and Vasily Popov (cello) in a program that includes two Mozart’s compositions: Piano Trio in E Major K.542 and his most famous chamber music masterpiece, the Piano Quartet in G minor.
Mozart and Friends also features Piano Quartet in C Major No.3, composed by the 14-year-old Ludwig Van Beethoven, already a big fan of Mozart with hopes of taking lessons from the Maestro, and Duo for Violin and Viola Op. 19 No.2 by Hoffmeister, Mozart’s friend and publisher.
