Police Release Video of Zales Jewelry Store Robbery; 128k in Rings Stolen
The robbery at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City took place Monday morning.
Robbers got away with 27 rings totaling $128,000 in a smash and grab robbery at the Zales jewelry store at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall Monday, according to police.
Authorities released a video of the robbery Tuesday morning. Robbers entered the store at 11:04 a.m. Monday and were in and out within 20 to 30 seconds, said Arlington County Police Department spokesman Dustin Sternbeck.
Four men entered the store wearing hoods over their heads and a mask or clothing covering their faces. The men started striking the glass of a display case, Sternbeck said.

“It took them 15 to 20 whacks of the hammer to gain access to the jewelry,” Sternbeck said.
The men grabbed the rings and fled to a parking garage on the top level of the mall. They were believed to have gotten away in a red-colored sedan, which busted through the parking garage gate on the Joyce Street side of the mall, Sternbeck said.
