95 Express Lanes to Open as Early as December
New 29-mile toll road for Dale City's commuters will start in Stafford and reach Interstate 395.

Drivers taking the long, slow commute from Fredericksburg to Washington, D.C., are about to get a new option.
The Virginia Department of Transportation and the 95 Express Lanes announced on Thursday that work on the 29-miles toll road could open as early as December. Expectations were for a rollout sometime in the first quarter of 2015.
“The 95 Express Lanes are on track for an early opening which means drivers should start preparing now,” said VDOT Commissioner Charlie Kilpatrick in a statement.

The nearly $1 billion project is financed, constructed and operated in a public-private partnership between VDOT and Transurban with Fluor-Lane 95.
The Express Lanes will be available to all drivers daily from Garrisonville Road in Stafford to the Edsall Road area on I-395. Drivers can purchase an EZ-Pass for their car to pay tolls or an EZ-Pass FlexSM if they’ll be using the lanes for toll-free high-occupancy commuting.
