Don't forgo a recheck exam for your feline

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure for your cat

There are good reasons why our veterinarian stresses the importance of a recheck examination for your feline after a serious illness. Consider the following:

  • Out of sight, out of mind. Many cancers, viruses and other health problems can go under the radar for a long time without manifesting any outward symptoms.
  • Better safe than sorry. Even if your cat seems to be feeling better, it is always best to make sure in the long run, especially since your cat will not tell you how he or she is really feeling.
  • Peace of mind. Catching an illness early gives us a better chance of resolving it and helps your cat spend more time enjoying life than hiding his or her pain. It's a win-win.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Whether your cat enjoys these recheck examinations or not, they are always the smart, loving thing to do. A recheck examination can determine if your cat is truly recovering (which will give you peace of mind), or it can detect ongoing problems that we can deal with more quickly and effectively to give your cat the longest, healthiest life possible.
