Fire in Dale City Displaces Family of Eight
A Dale City family leans on the Red Cross after a fire on Monday made their home unsafe

A two-story, single family home caught fire around 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3 on the 3300 block of Burleigh Lane in Dale City, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the basement door. They extinguished the fire in the utility room and found that it had not spread to other rooms in the house.
The residents of the house were not home at the time and no one was injured.

After the flames were put out, a building inspector examined the home and determined it unsafe for occupancy. The Red Cross was called to aid the eight residents displaced by the fire, and Animal Control was called to assist with animals.
The Fire Marshalβs Office estimates $90,000 in property damage and the fire is currently under investigation.
