Our planet is a precious gift from God, and protecting it is a responsibility deeply rooted in Islamic teachings. In today’s world, where climate change and pollution threaten natural balance, Islam provides clear guidance to care for the environment.
The Holy Quran warns against causing corruption on Earth: “And do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” (2:60). Also, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught kindness to all living beings and warned against wastefulness: “Eat and drink, but waste not by extravagance.” (7:31). Clean water and air are vital gifts, and their preservation is essential, as highlighted in the Quran: “Whoever saves a life, it will be as if he saved all mankind.” (5:32). The youth have a vital role in embracing and spreading these values for the protection of future generations.
The Holy Prophet (saw) also said, “The earth is green and beautiful, and Allah (God) has appointed you his stewards over it.” (Sahih Muslim). The fifth and current caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, stresses, “The environment is a divine trust; neglecting it harms not only the creation but our relationship with the Creator.” Caring for the environment aligns with fulfilling religious obligations and ensuring the well-being of all humanity.

Saving the Earth is not only an ecological necessity but a spiritual duty in Islam. By embracing sustainable practices and nurturing our environment, we honor Allah’s trust and protect the future of all living beings.
