Should we withdraw from Afghanistan now?

The Washington Post has published an article stating that Karzi is unlikely to sign the agreement that would keep US troops there for a while longer.  The sticking point in the agreement has to do with providing immunity to US Service Members who violate Afghani laws while performing their duties.  (Accidentally killing civilians comes to mind.)  This sticking point is similar to the one that resulted in our exit from Iraq.

My opinion is that we should leave promptly.  We have been there for 12 years and have accomplished all that we can reasonably expect to accomplish.  Our National interest in Afghanistan is to deny Al Qaeda the opportunity to recruit and train its adherents there.  Other than the safe harbor that the Taliban provided to Al Qaeda, I don't see how the Taliban should be our concern.  I recognize the humanitarian issues, but these are issues best resolved by the Afghanis and their Government.

Let's get the dialog started.
